    Regarding Lycan

Hello, fellow friends at ImagineFX. This is Yian. You may know me as the guy who had arguments a while ago with kakzy and recently with BlackWolfMan, and also the guy who did the painting with naked girls with maggots.

Today, i would like to share with you some of the result of my investigation regarding a member known as Lycan, who blatantly copied other people's work and claimed it as his own, thus violated the community trust we all hold dear.

This is not the first CG community that Lycan has pulled this prank with. For example, Lycan has at least two accounts at DeviantArt. One is called MetaLycan. If you go to that page, you will see that he used the same signature and the same avatar icon, which clearly indicates that this is the same Lycan from here.

Another account is called IllustraTou. This account has been deleted but all comments are there. From the comments:

"He is just being banned from every cg communities that i've known, but who knows, his cloning will be resurface in the future.... what a shame!"

"heya... "He is just being banned from every cg communities" can I know what cg community that have banned him?? 0_0 "

"well, indocg for one.... you know, you're one of the admin"

The last sentence was important because it gives us a piece of important information that will tells us more about Lycan. IndoCG is the largest CG community for CG artists from Indonesia, but more on that later. If you look through IllustraTou's gallery, you will see a lot of incredible artwortks and photographs that, obviously, were all stolen from other artists. One of them is a study of a werewolf's head, titled Lycan. This, i believe, is a strong indication that IllustraTou is Lycan.

Another piece of evidence comes from a website called illustratou.com. The meta tag/Google description of this website says, "METALYCAN - Your Professional 2D/3D Designer. By now, the link between, IllustraTou, MetaLycan, and Lycan are too strong to be a coincidence; to reinforce the pattern of art theft, the flash intro video of illustratou.com features a logo stolen from the video game Unreal Tournament, presented in a fashion as if MetaLycan has designed this logo himself.

The domain registration info of this website is:

Pondok Kelapa is a village of Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Indonesia.

the evidences indicates that Lycan is actually one Daniel Mortham from Indonesia (which explains his presence and banning from IndoCG.) iixmedia is also a web hosting company based in Indonisia. But for all we know, Danial might not be his real name, either, so here is more.

This photobucket account was used by him before he was expelled from IndoCG. Various pieces were taken from other artists which he claimed was his own. Take a look at this Legion concept. This is exactly the same legion concept image he showed in his WIP thread here at ImagineFX. With this final piece of information, there is no doubt that this is Lycan.

And look at this image. Apparently this was an attempt on a "tutorial" on his part to show how to paint hair. The image sure looks familiar to you, don't you think?

All the offenses Lycan has committed at ImagineFX can be found at this photobucket account. Here, he is called Lycanthrou. Most images Fablegoat pointed out from a manga book has been deleted, but a new image of an witch with an apple was added that was never shown here. I believe that it was supposed to be another "awesome"artwork from him, but he was caught before he had the chance to use it.

One last thing: This is the thread that got Lycan kicked out of IndoCG: http://indocg.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1097&p=1. Not only did he stole the images, he also created an account with a girly name and a girl's picture as his avatar... which means he pretended to be a girl. Hahahahaha. Apparently, IndoCG people have made a flyer and reward people 500 RP to find out more about this faker. I recommend everyone read that thread with a google translator, because it was pure gold - Lycan actually had two accounts there and these two accounts actually talked to each other. That's right, Lycan's first account would post something stolen, then his another account will show up and say "good job!"

IndoCG was able to find a picture of him from some other contest entry he was entering somewhere... and apparently, he faked that one, too.

This concludes my public service and my small investigation on this little chicken s*** that lied to me. Thank you for reading, and I hope this will help us to prevent him from further spreading his lies at other places.

    Re: Regarding Lycan

wow yian, that's fantastic, well done for finding all this out, so he's a professional con artist, the problem is i'm sure he'll appear somewhere else as someone else, but at least if we all keep an eye out we'll spot him if he comes here, people tend to show the same traits with each new incarnation.

seriously though, have you ever thought of detective work! ha ha, great information yian thank you

muahaha. I agree. That is some good detective work. Now if there was only a way you could create some sort of policing force and start collecting all this wanted money....

Oh My goodness. This guy is pretty gratuitous. Good investigation work!

He has a pattern, it shouldn't be too hard to catch him next time.

"which means he pretended to be a girl. Hahahahaha." - Hilarious :D

    Re: Regarding Lycan

you know, for him to use Marta's image is just too stupid for words, which leads me to believe he just does this for the hell of it, it's like he knows he's going to get caught, and actually tries to get caught by posting such blatant copies. Makes you wonder what a boring life he has for him to want to do that.

Thank you for your interest in my report. Here is a new piece of info. Regarding his "Distortion world," as you might have expected, it was indeed stolen. The original work is found here:
