    The Sacrifice

Another painting of a redhead surrounded by gross things.

Do you know, I think this might be the first time I've seen something of yours. But for all I know you could be posting in the Finished section every day, I hardly ever come in here. I should come more really.

Anywho, good pic. Can't really crit anything, so I won't.

    Re: The Sacrifice

If Yian PM'd me talking about his hot new concept for a piece with a girl holding a rubber duckie being menaced by some evil centipedes I would've told him "Give it up- That's never gonna work" but damn me if he didn't pull it off

The torso seems a bit wide, especially at the shoulders and the falloff on the legs seems a bit harsh. I don't think the hands are finished and there are some bands on the arms which make me wonder if they're anticipating dropshadows for some hair strands but would you look at those eyes? Did I mention the skintones?

Her torse is a little wide, but I think I like it the way it looks now. i don't think it is the most attractive shouloder length, but it does give her some characteristics.

I tried my best with my skin tone and the eyes, so if you don't like them, you will have to be specific with the issues, other wise I really wouldn't know where you find them not working out.

My bad... I meant that I loved the luminosity of the skintone and the reflectivity of the eyes. They are especially well rendered

    Re: The Sacrifice

The picture looks great but she's been wearing those undies for 186 days. No wonder there are bugs crawling around her! LOL

The shading on the belly looks a little strange around the belly button. Like it's really sunk in like a bowl. Love her face and her hair.

    Re: The Sacrifice

Well done. I would also say the whole area around the belly button does seem to be a little too concave. I would think that there should be a little darker value under her breasts, imho. They seem a little flat (not that way!Big Smile) I like the tag on the underwear, but it may be a little too bright. It sticks out just a little too much. I think if it was a little darker, it wouldn't stand out so much from the piece and be more of an "easter egg" to be found. The hand, especially the pinky, does need a little more refinement. It looks too thick right now. All of this is just my opinion tho. I'm still learnin'.

Love the face and skintones, and of course the duck!

You must have faith in yourself when no one else will....like now for example.

Like her anatomy. You have given her personality. Good colors thouhg it seems to belong in the wip section when I compere it to your other works. My main crit would be that it's to similar to your other redhead with the old dudes around her (don't remember the name). It's a bit old news to me.

    Life is contrast.

That's true. I will do something different next time, like a more dynamic pose. I am staying with this character for a while, though. My friends called her "186." So that would be her name.

    Re: The Sacrifice

Yea use the character. It's a good character. But put her in different situations. Mock up a story about her and play with that. That'll easily give you new picture with and about her. I like it when people make a character and tell their story in paintings.

    Life is contrast.

It could be worse... They could call her "38"
