It wont let me change my private email. can some one tell me how I can do this please.

I am unabled to get to the email that I have down because that account is now closed.

ooh i've never tried to change mine actually, but i seem to remember someone doing trying to do this before, trouble is i can't remember if they managed it or if they had to set a new account up! i'll go see if i can change mine!

ooh just checked and you're right, it won't let you, why don't you email the IFX team & see if they have any idea?

Click on your hompage (it's under your avatar) then click on community profile....then you should be able to change it there and don't forget to save It should change within 10 minutes after saving

yeah you can change your public email there emilia, but your private email is at the bottom of that page & when you highlight it to change it, it just doesn't let you.

Yup, as far as I know you can't. I hunted a while back because mine is still the email I used to sign up with the site and which no longer exists.

that is strange. hmmm....I've never tried it  myself either since I've had the same email for the past 8 years or so. gotten a few extra emails but still kept the one.

 I had my own email addy but thats down at the moment so changed it to my tiscali account but now I am no longer with them that email account has been shut down too... I just want to change it as Im missing all the posts that have been answered... its still not changed .. will have to send off another email me thinks

why did they shut your email Wendy? i had tiscali for about a minute a few years ago, but i still have my tiscali email?

no idea, I try and get in there and it says account suspended, which is odd really as thats the only way tiscali can get hold of me. They were my broad band provider, but cancelled the account when I moved, they suspended the email about a week after my account was closed. I cant even email them as all my details are in 'my account' and I cant even get into that, and Im not going to call them as there is no free number. I dont owe them anything as payments were direct debit and was no longer in thier terms of a contract. Maybe they are just pissed that I went else where for my Broadband, but they wernt that good to be honest and were always mucking me about with payment dates etc. In fact they probebly owe me as they still took payments from my bank after it was cancelled. its no great loss really apart from not being able to see what posts have been updated in here.

i had their broadband, it was in for a month and i never once managed to get a connection, absolutely rubbish, so you're well rid, but that's annoying about the email

I had a hit and miss connection, when it was good it was really good but when it was slow it was really slow.. Im with sky now and run three laptops and a pc of it and no slow connection or drop outs at all, I pay an extra tenner a month for unlimited downloads as I watch films and tv through my connection so far so good Its the best deal that I have had with a provider and I have had a few over the years.

Virgin was far the worse out of all though...

oh god i agree, i'm with virgin, it used to be NTL who i had no problems with their broadband, i hated them though, ha ha, my problem is that i can't have it through the phone line, apparently ours isn't good enough for that? stupid, so virgin are the only one's who provide through cable. We have 4 laptops & if we're all online at the same time it slows down & god forbid anyone downloads anything while you're online, it goes to a crawl, and for that pleasure i pay £25 a month, i had to up it as the £18 deal couldn't have 4 laptops connected.

i'd love a sky hub thing

strange that you couldnt have it through your phone line.. might be worth having a word with sky and see what they can do. lines are being upgraded all the time. they might just renew your line if you become a customer they pulled a few strings with me and got me connected to a bt landline for free
