    Re: The Embryo

I can see what's going on in the top half of the picture, but the blurred bottom half is confusing, so as a whole, it doesn't work for me.

    Re: The Embryo

I wanted to create some depth of field. Is it not working out...?

    Re: The Embryo

I understand the depth-of -field problem but to blur things doesn't always work in fantasy art; look through the images in ImagineFX to see what I mean.

You're right. Let me try without the blur.

    Re: The Embryo

The blurryness can work, but I agree with it being a bit messy, and it looks just a tad too airbrushed imo. The background is very nice though :)

and the update came as I posted my reply :P

    Re: The Embryo

I have to say that for me, the out of focus in the first image worked great. I had no problem seeing that the figures in the bottom were doctors or something like that working with the embyo. Of course it was hard to see actsactly what they were doing, but I really dont understand that in the update either. BUT, that's not the main motif. The main motif in this picture is the embryo. The out of focus effect, or as some call it here, blurryness, just sets the focus better onto the main motif. Go back to the fist picture. That's my advise. You have a much stronger focal piont there. Witch is lacking in your update. And the out og\f focus effect really worked here. And that's a hard thing to get to work. I have seen very few examples of that, but this was a good one.

    Life is contrast.

I like the mood (the colors), but the main characters (man and girl) ned more work. The girl hair is like a wig...

I think the biggest problem is that her forehead is too big. Also, a few highlights might have been too strong. But the main problem is definitely the size and shape of the hair.

what about the guy? What needs to be improved about him?

    Re: The Embryo

Fascinating image ! Even better after removing the blur in the foreground.

The guy looks rather cool, I like his expression of doubt, it is like he is thinking " What are we doing here ? This can´t end well ! "

This image has a cool feeling of sci-fi...Like a cover of "Amazing stories".

    Re: The Embryo

it is an amazing image, much better without the blur though, as it's been said, the guy's expression is good, it's like he's about to say 'feckin hell, what's that?' lol
