Am an avid heavy metal fan! Nightwish inspires me to draw out some crazy stuff. Mainly the old stuff tho. Ghost love score and moondance are great tracks to draw to.

 I kinda listen to everything, from new jazz to hardcore metal. Recently I started to listen to sepultura, soulfly & Slipknot again Been out of that scene for a while. It helps me do disturbing stuff but at the same time makes me frustrated in myself. I have fun to Fallout boy,  do meaningful with Amy winehouse & Adele. Or just go on a long session to Rage against the machine (best band ever). Audiooslave, Alisha Keyes, James brown, Al green, Ray Charles... The list goes on

Cheers! I'm no fan of Nightwish, even though I liked them alot a few years ago.. :) Music that inspires me is mostly melodic music, preferably Melodic Deathmetal / Any other great heavy sound with beautiful guitar parts ( Not powermetal though, I can't stand the singers - I'm no hater though ). Dark Tranquility, Old Opeth, In Flames are some of my favorites!

But otherwise it depends on which mood I am in, and how I want my picture to be. I love to draw to trance, example Infected Mushroom, and hardstyle, Drum 'n Base etc. It really depends on the song, rather than the music style. Classical music is great too ^^ .. So shortly, I draw to everything that I find inspiring.

OK. i'll be the freaky one here. When I paint at home (which is not so  common) the soundrtack is usually something baroque, which means 18th-  17 th  century, Bach, Locatelli, Haydn, Couperin, whatever. To make a dark piece some early centuries chants are great. Not that it's something special I put along to draw though, it's just what sounds at home. But I may try heavy metal one day, I suppose...

and i think i'll be the odd one out here, i don't actually listen to any music when i paint, it distracts me as when i listen to music i like to really listen to it, i sit in the room with my cintiq (just love saying that ) and the tv is usually being watched by my family so it's background noise ( i don't watch tv unless it's lost so i ignore it anyway) 

music i like though is kind of kids stuff, Blink 182 (now airwaves & angels & +44 i like both of these split offs i was devastated when they broke up!), New Found Glory, Greenday, that sort of thing, i also like other random stuff.

Kazky: ok, you win. you're  by far the freakiest.

I usually paint at work. Instead of working. My boss happens to be my husband so just in case he has  a brilliant idea to  complain, I can always  leave him without supper.

I can´t hardly draw anything without music,..There is always something playing on my computer as I go on, though I found that I work best to the oddest things...Like this LP bought in Moscau in the eighties with traditional russian music. I have found I work very well to this record for some reason...So it is usually playing when I draw, in an hour I go into a kind of "trance" and whatever music is playing just goes on and on...Since my player always is on "repeat", my poor neightbours ( I live in a flat ) gets to hear the old soviet anthem once every hour or so, (the record ends with that tune ! ) I also tend to rise the volyme level...Another work to - favourite is a swedish/german WW-2 singeress named Zarah Leander...When I am normal I listen to Kraftwerk, hip-hop, classical music, ethnic stuff, ABBA...I am often told I have the weirdest musical taste.
