really nice linework frei, i like it alot,

right, how is she posed? is she jumping? if thats the case & her jacket is flowing with the breeze then i think her hair would look good doing that too.

the only crit i see so far is her nose, it looks a little like an animal snout, but i'm sure you'll sort that in the colouring stage. This is a different style for you isn't it? i think you've done a great job!

Yeah, she's jumping :) right after the croutch at the top of the jump and just starting to go down....how dyou think the coat should flow at that stage?

I was about to complain over how you had drawn her pistols and her butt, but you have improved both in the second sketch, though that holster still looks a bit to small for those guns.

I like the face actually, as Kaz points out: she has a feline nose - put a tail and pointed ears on her and we have a nice anthro-girl ! Wink

Re: Girl with guns- lineart looking for improvement

hmmm, well i think it would start to billow as if it was filling with air & the hem of the coat would probably start to flick upwards, though it's pure guesswork, it's kinda hard to enact it isnt it? ha ha

Re: Girl with guns- lineart looking for improvement

    ok! here's the new wip;

it has some considerable changes, I decided not to twist the back so much to avoid ackwardness, I added some anti-slip grip to the gun and designed a holster...does it look credible? I drew it with a gun next to the girl to show how it works...but maybe it shouldn't be that way? I don't know enough about guns exept that they look cool as a fashion accessory T^T I filled her coat with air, I think it looks more credible with her pose now, other edits were minor adding of more muscles and the glasses as well as general fix of the inking.

Haven´t seen that type of holster, but why not ? Guess it would work.

Pose and coat looks o.k to me, nice touch with the glasses. Yes

Re: Girl with guns- lineart looking for improvement

I just took a normal holster, looked at what was holding the gun in place and took of the sorta "bag" part about it...but I feel bad about it 'cause I did it because my other holster looking like *** wether I had a ref or not x_x Embarrassed

on an other note, I think she's comming along pretty fine ^^ I can't wait to see this piece finished (thanks for all the help guys)

Re: Girl with guns- lineart looking for improvement

At the moment her background ankle looks too thin so you might want to scale it up a bit. I'd probably make the hand and gun closest to us a little larger to account for it being nearer to us than the other one. You also have a bit of a tangent with her hair and the forearm in the background, which looks a bit odd... actually the forearm on that side looks too long.

I'll be quiet now Stick out tongue

Re: Girl with guns- lineart looking for improvement

    Hi there.

Does her butt look big in that?

    Consider:

Standing straight, a nice butt doesn't extend much farther than the back of the head, and she isn't positioned straight either, shes actually slightly more obtuse than a right angle.

Also, the back of her shirt is vertical, yet her back is coming out from it suddenly at like 50 degrees. Since she has flat abs it looks awkward.

Just Take a look at the curve of her back and where her butt suddenly rises, it's way too sharp, you could nest a 90 degree angle in there almost perfectly.

I reckon that her whole butt could come in a good 1/2 centimetre at the very least if you make the curve of the back more natural.

Re: Girl with guns- lineart looking for improvement

Not bad Frei.....here is a paint-over with some areas that I feel need some work....mostly I concerned myself with the pistol and holster because quite frankly...she looks good otherwise. My biggest non- technical observation is... what is she looking at? Because neither gun is pointing in the direction she is looking in....not that they have to be....but it makes me wonder how she would hit anything  if she's not even looking at a target.

Okay....the red lines show how the guns should be sitting....guns are generally made to follow a natural pointing of the index finger, while some do this better than others...it is the common goal to make it point naturally in the hand when held properly. They also are designed with the barrel sitting as close to the line made by the index finger as is possible...meaning the barrel is sitting beside and slightly above the finger when it is out-stretched and pointing. There is actually a reason for this design....it helps reduce the amount of recoil felt and maintain control over the pistol when fired. Basically the gun in her left hand should follow where her hand is pointing more. The gun in her right hand should have less of the side visible to us....and though I didn't mark it ...the barrel should be closer to her trigger finger. We should also see more of her thumb here since she is still holding onto something and not simply making a fist.

The Blue line is just showing the direction her finger is pointing in more-or-less.

Okay, now for the holster....something I know a thing or two about. Holsters are a designed to carry a pistol on your person in such a way as to make it quick and easy for you to draw and fire while also keeping the gun protected somewhat from being damaged and made unusable. There are many designs possible and are often a reflection of a particular preference of the wearer to to grab their gun(s) in a particular way. However there are certain things that MUST be considered for nearly any holster.

    1) The holster must allow a proper grip on the gun before removing it from the holster. Fingers wrapped around the grip completely.

    2) It must allow you to return the gun to the holster with one hand. Many holster don't do this but for reasons that I won't go in to.....

    3) If your going to be leaping around it needs a strap to keep it in place. Modern technology allows for other ways of keeping it inside....but the old fashioned way was a strap across the hammer....or back of the gun. Usually a thumb-break strap which allows you to release it as you grip the gun and then pull it free. The big exclaimation mark is to say that the strap across what's called the backstrap of the gun is a bad idea....it interferes with gripping the gun properly and can prevent you from drawing it out quickly.

In reality your first holster design was quite sound.....just Google Glock and browse their "accessories"....not too different at all. I liked it myself. Especially take a look at their "Safety Holster" and you will see what I mean by other ways to keep it inside.

Oh and I agree with Fav.....her butt needs some re-shaping in the cheek area.

Love the face....looking forward to seeing this done Wink
