    :(

It sucks... it's still not really sinking in.
The creative genius behind many of my movie monster/ icon obsessions, gone, just like that...

It's heavy to think that without all the things he created I wouldn't have been exposed to all those fantastic creatures, wouldn't have gotten so obsessed with the details and logic, would not have become the artist that I am today... I'm pretty sure of that...

Drawing the predators, terminator endoskeletons, aliens, over and over until I could get them right... and all the other crazy things he helped bring to life with his genius... I don't think I'd be the artist I am today...

I just hope the Stan Winston Studios/ effect houses can keep up the level of quality without the man himself being involved... :(

    This is really sad...

The man that brought to life and made believable so many iconic creatures & characters including:

    The Terminator
    Predator
    Aliens & Alien Queen
    Edward Scissorhands
    The Penguin
    Pumpkinhead
    The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park
The Monster Squad (you just know that werewolf was all Stan)
the 'decomposing death' Lestat from Interview with a Vampire
& SO MANY other projects he had his creative genius applied to... including Iron Man & the recent Indiana Jones flicks...

    Like I told someone else...
When I was a lil kid, I was exposed and obsessed with all these things, and remain so to this day (as if you couldn't tell from my artwork).
So much of me being an artist is attributed to all these movies and monsters that he created and me being so into all of it. Like Aliens, when I first saw that... woah. Same thing with Predator (which is still my favourite movie I think, can't ever get tired of watching it). And of course the terminator movies... and all the other crazy stuff - that once you realise it was him working on it, it makes sense and you go "Oh, that's why it looks so genuine! Stan Winston, duh!"

I remember the first time I did some sequential art... it was after watching 'the Monster Squad'. One of the werewolf scene's... Heh.

This blog is pretty disjointed, so my apologies for that.

Obviously a major influence and inspiration... RIP Stan. [:'(]
