random wierdness from the life of a comic book colorist

long days and short days

seems like there is a dichotomy between working long days and working short days. Today, is a short day, probably only around 6 hours worth of work time when all is said and done. 2:45 need to head up to the school for basketball practice, which goes until 4:30. then it’s time to hurry home, eat and get changed to head back up the high school for my daughter’s xmas band concert at 7 (she’s got to be there around 6:30 I think) Tomorrow…I don’t THINK there is anything going on yet, but I know Saturday is basketball in the morning from 10-11:30, then we’re headed to a xmas party tomorrow night around 5 or 6 I think. Then Sunday morning, it’s off to church to see my brother play piano for the service that morning, then we’re leaving around 3:30 or 4 to head to my wife’s xmas work party. Thinking of all this last night, in this way seemed like a LOT of stuff. I’ve decided I need to take one day at a time though. The wife says I need to work on being more sociable, so I’m going to try. It’s hard though, because I’m most comfortable in my studio and just hanging around the house. The definition of a hermit I know. So today, it’s off to try and get some coloring done here. The studio IS a mess again though and I could stand to clean probably first. Which I probably should do so it helps to alleviate that feeling of being overwhelmed. Being buried in papers and clutter probably isn’t conducive to feeling relaxed. Think I’ll light up some incense and get to it this morning, coffee is good though, so I may put on another pot of joe before I get settled in for a few hours here today. Also, tomorrow is an exciting day here, as the hardcover trades should be here via UPS. I’ve been dying to see them, and everyone that has seen them or got their books at the store already or whatever has been raving how nice they are. Also, should have copies of the ongoing series issue 1’s in the next week, as well as more money. I’m definitely not complaining here. Should be a great week work wise.
