random wierdness from the life of a comic book colorist

Tuesday already?

so much for emerging from my self-imposed stealth mode. Was a busy weekend, and a busy start to the week here as well. Saturday morning I helped with the basketball clinic up at the high school for the 5th and 6th grade girls, Saturday afternoon was a trip to the in-laws to celebrate my daughters birthday and my niece's birthday. Sunday was a day of feeling absolutely terrible, not getting much done, and sleeping on the couch with the tv on. Monday was a rough start yesterday, a nap in the middle of the afternoon helped me be a bit more productive though, and helped me feel a lot better. Today however.... Today it's after 11am, I've been up since 6:45, and I've gotten HALF of ONE Hero By Night webcomic flatted. Not very productive. Been calling parents to try and find enough girls to play basketball so that we can do a couple of tournaments this year. There were only 6 that showed up last Saturday, and I've been calling some of the ones that played last year, and so far, not much luck. Will have to wait on some messages to get returned, but really, participation in sports seems to just drop off to levels that are really pathetic as kids get older nowadays I think. I remember when there were 18-20 kids trying out for the high school basketball team here, when the school was TWICE as small as it is now. They're lucky to get those same numbers today. You'd think that when numbers double, it would translate everywhere. Evidently not. seems like kids, AND parents, have just too many other things to occupy their time now. 15 years ago doesn't SEEM like that long of a time, but really, it was an entirely different world then than it is now. So, while I'm wasting time here, I'm delaying eating an early lunch, and then having to MOW THE YARD one last time. Mid-November, and I'm mowing the yard. It's going to be over 60 degrees here today. Something wrong about having it that warm this late in the year. So after eating lunch and then mowing the yard (an adventure likely to take anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours) coming inside and getting cleaned up, maybe I'll sit down to seriously get started on work here by 4pm today. maybe. I think what I will do is finish up flatting that webcomic I started this morning though. Leaving for Texas on Friday morning EARLY, I'd like to get those updates that will happen while we're gone at the show, out of the way as soon as possible. k, mindless chatter is stopping now, as I really do probably need to get started on all this crap here today.
