random wierdness from the life of a comic book colorist

"Deadlines again...feel like hiding out..."

"no sign of comfort, have a nap while no ones looking, bring some inspiration to the man...in my head" no, I won't quote an entire Neil Finn song just now, feels like some good Thursday music though, after I get some more coffee. Haven't listened to his stuff in a while, and since my 4000 plus songs on the HD are not enough, I need to recylce/rediscover some of what I have on there. it's been an okay week thus far, felt more than a bit off yesterday afternoon though. still, Tuesday I got a TON of work done so that made up for an average workday yesterday. Today, another good day, if I have to MAKE myself have one. It's quite an interesting feeling to have so much work that you don't need to worry about when it's going to run out. Today is obivously going to include some actual pages, but I have a cover and also character designs to color if I can get to them. And just when I thought I would be done with coloring and painting, this weekend my daughters bedroom is first up on the list of rooms to paint in the house, then the following weekend it's my son's turn (for which I should probably come up with a Craken idea since one wall is going to be getting a huge silohette of that monster from the Pirates movies on it) Nothing like turning your room into a Pirates cove or a Pirate ship when you're a little boy :D My daughters will be simpler, just some bright pastels with stripes on the walls (MUCH more sophisticated and "grown up" that way is what she's thinking now she's in MIDDLE school) So, off to get around, then color, then I want to TRY and get over to the drawing board today yet if there's time-don't think I've sat down there all week yet other than to leaf through my Marvel Encyclopedia. Or I've been meaning to sit down and start watching some of these TWENTY Gnomon Workshop DVD's I won back in late December of last year. Is it already April? whew.....I may have to rearrange my schedule to FIND time for those things (can you go to school at home if you're not really GOING to school? maybe, but I'm just gettiing better at time management what with 2 kids and a neverending supply of work, so fitting in time to learn new things is hard) oh well.....onwards and upwards!  here's that piece I promised, unpublished work of course, with pencils and high rez file supplied by good buddy Jim Muniz (Marvel Knights FF, Hulk: Destruction, X-Men: The 198) who I'm working on some other projects with right now, inks by the ever talented Kevin Conrad, colors by me :D  Trying to add some more muscle to my portfolio, and the Hulk is perfect for that :)
