  • Could a fan-comic make it?

Howdy my few (but trusty) readers!

Here's the deal. I have been planning a comic (mainly strip) for a looooo-oo-ooooong time as you know it from a few blog posts before. Now I am wondering that would it be a good start to make a so called "fan-comic"? I have gotten good feedback from my "Punishing Time" drawing and it has build up my confidence quite much. SO I'm about 90% sure to make a Punisher comic as a fan to fans, you know?

I was just wondering that how much possibilities there are to make it a big time in comic circles via a fan-comic? I'm not seeking fame and money (but if that comes to me, I don't mind at all Confused) but mainly some recognision.

How do you feel about this? Is that a good way to get recognision etc?

  • Looking for group, IFX, PA, PvP, Livecasts etc...

    Yo m8s!

Just dropped by to tell you latest from the webcomics and such things I browse on daily basis to relax & laugh.

Today I found a new webcomic and here's the deal. It is not "strip" but a "page". So, full comic page that comes at least once a month and now they are going at the page 28. I think the main audience for this webcomic is people who play LOTS of World of Warcraft or at least know something about RPG's. The webcomic is called "Looking for group" and can be found here --> http://lfgcomic.com/

Then a word about podcasts. World of podcasting is freakin' huge these days. www.talkshoe.com is propably best site for these. You can even participate (by dialing in (via phone or skype) or using chat of that particular program which is playing at the moment). They call these podcasts as livecasts. In TalkShoe, there's a huge number of interesting livecasts to listen and even to download.

I have found TWO very good, humorous and comic/movies related livecasts there. One is called "Halfpixel Halfcast". It used to be called PvP livecast, but it seems that PvP and Halfpixel have joined forces. Their livecasts are availeble for download here --> http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=5809

Other GREAT livecast is called Bigfanboy Livecast. Guys at www.bigfanboy.com put up this one and it's one of the best ever. They even have 3-4 special guests on the show during every month. For example Punisher actor Tom Jane has been sharing his thoughts on air. Please visit the site and download even few of their "work" from --> http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=10514

In conclusion I must mention two perhaps worlds best webcomics. PvP (www.pvponline.com) and Penny Arcade (www.penny-arcade.com). Read & enjoy!

    See you around folks

  • Starting a comic strip... I think

For months now I have been really thinking hard about starting a comic strip of my own. I have been reading comics, web comics and daily newspaper strips for ages and about same amount of time always thinking of making my own.

Now I have decided to finaly do it! I have my characters laid out and I also have kinda good premices and story idea for a strip - actually I have three choises. But my problems are following: should I do the strip in my native language (Finnish) or in english for wider spread. 2nd problem here is that if I do it in finnish the strip should (or would) concern things known to "my people" and countrymen so everyone would understand things here in Finland.

What should I do? I can't make up my mind! Confused

.. help me and I will give you a morale boost in favour Geeked

  • Stephen King's Dark Tower - Gunslinger Born #1. Have YOU seen it?

    Allo allo!

I just finished browsing for the comic (issue 1 of 7) I mentioned in the topic at my friends house. Just dropped by to mention that the art on the pages is pretty damn good. It features artists like Jae Lee (known for his work like Ultimate Fantastic Four etc).

If you haven't seen or read it I suggest that you do it as soon as possible. Here's a picture of it and ... well, go get it!

  • Starting a blog... now is a good time

Ok. I decided to put up a blog now. I already have a blog or so called journal in dA (deviantart.com) on my nick Glottis78 but it's just bollocks that site.

One thing though - I am from Finland so you might not understand everything I'm trying to say here, so bare with me.

Deal here is also that I'm trying to do "digital art" but my freaking computer isn't working properly and had to give back the one I loaned from a friend of mine. But hey! I'll propably get an old/used laptop today - FOR FREE!

It will only dissapoint me if there isn't USB-port for my tablet but hey: free laptop? Yes sir. It's mine for taking Cool  Geeked

For this day have only been making and scanning my sketches here. I hope to get laptop working for my purposes and making some serious art crap for you guys & gals to "enjoy".... So, here are my best sketches so far (go to my gallery to see the bigger versions:
